Ukrainian insurance market: we have unique experience that we are ready to share with Europe

The Ukrainian insurance market does not stop during a full-scale war: it continues to converge with the European financial system and at the same time prepares for a new stage of growth. In support of this vector, meetings of representatives of the Ukrainian insurance and financial sector with the leadership of key European institutions: the European Parliament, the European Commission, the European Central Bank and the European Investment Bank were held in Brussels on February 19–22.

The main topics of discussion were bringing legislation into line with European standards, expanding financial opportunities, implementing the principles of sustainable development (ESG), cybersecurity and the development of digital technologies in insurance products and services.

The Ukrainian delegation included Viktor Berlin, the chairman of the coordination council of the Federation of Insurance Associations and the president of the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine. He shared his impressions of the meetings with European representatives, and also spoke about the current realities and prospects for the development of the Ukrainian insurance market within the framework of a special project of Economic Truth and the League of Insurance Organizations of Ukraine.
